It has some great new features to increase power handling and to keep heat away from the Neo magnets:
** Side-Vented Motor (more efficient than gap venting)
** Newly Tooled Cast Aluminum Venting Ring (transfers heat from the motor into the basket)
** Aluminum "top-plate" to transfer heat into the vent ring more effectively
** Additional aluminum heat-sink below the Neo Magnets (this is internal and cannot be seen from the outside)
** Solid pole-piece for high velocity air movement across the coil former

I love these subs updated review
I have two of these in a D4S custom built strong enclosure.. they are capable of some very impressive numbers. NSv4 12
I have two of these in my truck powered by salt 12 currently I play music around 153-4 at about 6000 W clamped. For a high excursion subwoofer they can be extremely punchy. Sundown makes some awesome subs, and D4S is the place to get them.

Sundown Audio Nightshade V.4 12" {3000-Watts}
To start out I have been running a HDC4 15" Soundqubed Sub. The Sundown Sub by far pushed more air and Bass than I have been used to hearing. The lows were amazing and I have not even begin to push it yet. Standing outside the door of my car I could feel the air coming out. And from a distance I could hear nothing but good clean Bass! This thing is a beast! I have the Nsv4 12 D2 paired with a sundown scv 4k on a 1 ohm load in a box that is 2.5cubes after displacement tuned to 32 hzs. Loving how them low notes feel in the chest and seeing my whole truck turn to jello off this one 12! This nightshade is awesome!! It is a huge upgrade from my ZV3 and I would highly reccomend Nightshade V4s for any basshead looking to turn some heads.
