Very Nice / More Than I Expected.

So I Just swapped out my Skar PAX Neo Pro Audio 6.5's for the new Wolfram 6.5's and I am pretty impressed. These are about 50% cheaper and yet I'm still considering them to be a notable upgrade. The PAX was advertised to play lower than most 6.5's and had a higher than usual sensitivity and efficiency. Power ratings on the PAX are claimed on the Skar website to be 260W RMS and 520W Peak. When they arrived I believe the manual that came with them claimed RMS to be around 150W RMS and not 260W RMS. I also noticed that they do not play lower than 100hz at all, so I was not very impressed with that. It really seems the TS Parameters for the Skar speakers were way off! Either way they were very loud and although I was hard on them never gave up on me. They are still 100% functional but due to cosmetic issues I'm just going to sell them to my cousin at a huge discount. The Wolfram 6.5's have significantly stronger baskets, and overall just a bold appearance. They are significantly heavier but that was expected because the Skar's had Neo motors. Even considering that though, these things are heavier than any other 6.5 I've ever owned. The slightly larger push terminals accepted my NVX 10 AWG Silver Tinned OFC speaker wires without any issues. They honestly just sound better in general compared to the Skar 6.5's, I can actually feel how much louder the vocals are and there is zero distortion. I was most surprised that these produced a noticeable amount of mid bass compared to the Skar 6.5's. My build is slowly evolving into an all Wolfram setup. I have someone lined up to buy my ZVX-15's in a couple weeks and I'll be upgrading to AU-18's, and those will be here tomorrow. I have a W-125.4 on pre-order but those are several months out. I still need to order some of the new Wolfram tweeters but those are still in stock. So other than the four channel amplifier I'll have an All Wolfram setup soon. I hope to get my build as far along as I can by October 27th, which is when I'll be competing for the first time. I am currently getting a 152.8 @ 33hz with just the two 15's on a Wolfram W-4500 @ 0.5 ohms.
