I just love this amplifier
I used to have a Rockford power 1k watt amp and it did well for like 11+years till one day it just popped and never powered back on again. Didn’t even blow any fuses it just stopped. I spent the last year on a old jbl bp600.1 amplifier and always being like, it’s not what it used to be like obviously 600watts was decent still but didn’t feel like my bass used to when I first got my moderate system. This one I got as a refurbished unit but other than the remote bass knob cord and a touch of double sided tape on the bass knobs top…… you wouldn’t know this unit was ever refurbished!!! I rewired my subs to 4ohm instead of the 1 ohm. And the punch my subs got from this amp was like oh hell yeah this is what I’ve been missing! I think my old RF amplifier was just too old and lost its punch over the years little by little. Cause this new amplifier with a quick little tune is pushing these old subs back like it used too! And I haven’t even tweaked the amplifier any. Haven’t even got my high power alternator on the rig yet. I absolutely love the remote bass knob with the voltage and clip light and temperature option. I love it! I am very impressed with this amplifier! And I only have it at 4 ohms right now. At 1 ohm it’s supposed to push even harder from the YouTube video testing it on they dyno machine. Pulls a hell of a lot more current tho. That’s why I switched mine to 4 ohms right now to be easier on my electrical cause I don’t have it upgraded right now. I’ve been rocking these MTX 8500s 15s since 2011 and this amplifier is putting them to work again! I can’t wait to get my high power alternator back on and all ground cables upgraded like it needs to be to really crank it for extended high levels. Right now the stock alternator can’t keep up. Another reason why I love the voltage display and the clip light! I’m shocked at how responsive that bassknobs voltage display is! Cause my stinger display doesn’t respond at all that fast! If you’re on the fence about this amplifier I say take the leap! You won’t regret it! I only have two complaints. One obviously the 4gauge input block and the 8gauge remote turn on is like why…. 8gauge really! I wish they would swap the blocks with 1/0gauge input and normal remote turn on inout. And the second improvement could be make the remote bass knobs so you could flip the shell so it could be mounted easier. I see why previous owner used double sided tape to hold the bass knob in that orientation. Most people i think would mount them under the dash not ontop of the dash. I feel like that’s not too much of an ask. I know the power inputs can use reducers it’s just something that can pull so much power it shouldn’t be limited to 4gauge. And the bassknob could be like a sleeve so you could flip the mounting legs with two simple set screw on the sides to lock it into the base mount.
