The majority of subs that produce this much bass usually have enormous power requirements to get to maximum XMAX and deliver crazy loud bass. The ZXI12.2D sets itself apart since it has an extremely efficient coil that handles large power with a higher dB rating than most subs at 89.2 dB. This sub is also conservatively rated at 1000W RMS Power Handling and 2000W MAX Power Handling, making it capable of handling anything you throw at it!

Zxi 12 high excursion
I had 2 Memphis mojo pro 12's in a d4s regular box non-kerf. I figured hey why not try to get a little more bass. I was running the JL audio Rd 1500 amp to my mojos. They were pretty loud but not windy enough. So I figured I'd give these high excursion ones to try and boy was I happy I did. I installed them the first day I got it and instantly with the gain 50% of what I had on the Mojo's it was already louder. Broke it in for about a week and turn it up to 75% or 1/3 gain compared to my Mojo's and it was still louder way louder. Now I have it at half gain and the jl audio amp is 1500 at 2 ohms but I know it pushes a little harder than that pushes those subs just fine and I'm almost scared to turn the volume up cuz my back windshield is flexing so hard and my teeth chatter on certain HZ not to mention I sneeze frequently when a heavy Bass song comes up. The two ZXi compounded with the kerf box from down 4 sound is a great combination. Not to mention I only have a batcap, optima yellow top under hood and my big 3 upgrade on a stock alternator and it is so so so good. The zxi's are your best bang for your buck and they're also the same price as the Memphis mojo pro. I've always loved Memphis ever since high school 15 years ago but ds18 is a whole another beast when it comes to SPL. Get you a pair you won't be disappointed
