The Sundown Audio X12 v3 D2 has a bigger motor and graduates to the Zv5 coil. So also more linear Xmax. Which Means More output and less distortion and more power handling vs. the Sundown Audio X12 v2 D2 -- the X12 v3 is like 85% of a Z v5 . with these upgrades; sundown audio has added 500 more watts to the power handling making it one of the most potent 12-inch subwoofers in the world, that also sounds good.

Great subwoofer
I have this subwoofer in my room on 2000 watts and it shakes the whole house. It's got great lows and punchy bass. The excursion is outrageous (4 inches) and I don't have anything bad to say about this subwoofer.

I ordered the sub and was delivered within a few days. I have not had time to install the set up in my car yet. I am sure the speaker will provide me with years of musical listening pleasure

New Sundown X 12 V.3 Sub from a JL 12w7
I replaced my JL12w7 sub with this Sundown X12 V.3 and I’m really impressed. The sound quality is unbelievable and it’s hard to describe the deep concrete feeling bass you get from this sub. I’m playing around with it inverted and traditional mounted for the final set up. The sound quality is way better than I expected, I was worried the output may be overpowering but it turned out to be perfect. Hard to believe but it is better than the w7… I’m a believer. This is my first Sundown but won’t be my last. BTW down4sound was perfect Thru the entire purchase process, highly recommended Thanks - Beasley

A monster of a sub! It's one thing to see pictures of it, but to have it sitting on your workbench it quit another! Build quality is top notch. I would recommend this sub to anyone looking to add some serious "thump" to their system! Down4Sounds Customer service is outstanding and my order shipped super fast. Couldn't be happier!
