Mind blowing NS6 10" Breaks All Records -runs cool, rms power way underrated, heavy load long runtime, zero distortion

Posted by Jacob I. on Jun 26, 2025

So much to say, but ill try to keep it short. This NS6 10" sub with my budget Taramps MD3000.1 2ohm amp handles and sounds superb with zero distortion even when you over power it. Its under rated at 3000watts. Its safe to run it at continuous 3500-4000rms no problem and it barely gets warm. It never gets hot unlike other NEO subs. This heat sync design is something to write home about let me tell you. Worried about NEO subs losing drive from heat? Its almost impossible to get this sub past warm. Ive abused it with absurd tuning and HIGH watts for over an hour on a hot day and it acts like you just threw a pebble at it. If you think Im exaggerating you gotta borrow one before you buy and see what Im saying. I went from worry in my tuning and smoking subs like the American Bass HD-Velocity which is a awesome sub worth every penny, but this NS6 is like a alien compared to it. NOTHING applies prior with tuning with this NS6. It is SO loud and powerful it blows away my old dual 12 MTX thunder 5500 series subs in a 3 cubic ported ft box! and those were loud on a phoenix gold amp. It plays with no distortion even while raising gains over 77 volts and plays all over the Fs clean! Its a engineering marvel as far as heat goes. This sub is mind blowing and theres so much more i cannot get to. of all the things that blow me away the heat sync is the INSANE mark of this sub that stands way out. I cannot seem to get this thing past warm! i run it constant at 3500 watts and higher to 5000 and it barely warms up! Sundown is under rating stuff on purpose LOL they know its fun for bassheads. It ends with smiles rather than headaches and smoking subs trying to tinker a tad past limits. With the NS6 you will end up under powering it with a digital multi meter. It NEEDS and WANTS a oscilloscope. YOU cannot treat this like other subs. It does handle more power and watts continuously where other subs would heat up and smoke. This breaks every rule so far and took my worry away of NEO powered motors. My advice: -Buy 3/16 2 inch long Brass wood screws to mount the cutout it at ACE Hardware if your box is heavy duty 1-3/8 thick wood. anything under wood under an inch and this sub will tear your bax apart (not good for 1/2 inch or 3/4 MDF wood in my opinion but you can try, dont say i didnt warn you -in the case you have a built box you have 2 options for side firing it (i side fire mine in my 03 4runner as it sounds the best firing it towards passenger side of rear cab). instead of a wood shelf to support the rear edge of the heat sync motor use the heat sync plate M3 screw points to attach 2 separate inside corner L braces to stand up (balance/level) the rear motor in the box if side firing it, for the 10"s the rearward edge of the motor to the level lip of the cutout is about 1-3/4" inches, if the sub is not mounting flush at the cutout shave off a 1/16th of this . now pay attention to the angle as the motor dimensions slope towards the spider of the sub. these L corner braces will be a V shaped legs. you then MUST cut these to stand on that level height based on WHERE the legs are aiming down relative to the angle of the motor - then you add the rest of the space of the box and add that to get your total standing height. measure twice cut once. It seems difficult but its not. this sub is too heavy for a wood shelf to just sit on like i currently have. it starts to smash down the wood which IF you do use a wood shelf use the 1-3/4 height and then sand what you need until the sub mounts flat on the cutout. I think 1-11/16 is the precise height to give you a direction. Its more work getting the sub in and out of the box than the actual brace work. -youll need new M3 screw lengths to replace the motors short screws to install these L corner brace legs. Likely youll need 3/4 long M3 socket head screws to allow the thickness of the brace and still reach the inner threads of the heat sync plates -if you need my dimensions of the sub I created and added to the PDF for a bracing this sub contact me at 0011101000@proton.me and ill email it Im currently saving to buy another NS6 10" 1ohm sub with a Gately amp in a dual box setup.
